Help plant a tiny food forest for children and the local community of Jean-Rabel

In rural Jean-Rabel, Haiti, Foundation Sanite Jeanty provides a home, care, and food for children who are homeless or in need of support.

Global Tree Initiative is raising $7,000 to help plant approximately 2,000 fruit and shade trees, alongside vegetables and root crops. The funds raised will support our local partner, Foundation Sanite Jeanty Haiti, who will carry out the project with the participation of children, educators, and community members.

As it grows, this tiny food forest will provide fresh, locally grown food for the children, help reduce food costs, protect the soil, provide shade, and create a healthier environment around the foundation.

However, this project is about more than growing food. It is about creating a place where children can learn, participate, and grow alongside the trees that will help support their future.

The food forest will also become a practical learning space for local schools and educators. Children will learn about trees, soil, water, food security, and caring for the environment, while the project will also support SEE Learning activities focused on compassion, resilience, well-being, and our relationship with the natural world.

With approximately one acre of land already available and an existing water source, the project has the essential resources in place to begin.

Your contribution will help bring us closer to planting 2,000 trees and creating a sustainable source of food, learning, and support for the children of Jean-Rabel.

Together, we can plant trees that help feed children, nurture their curiosity, and create a greener future for Jean-Rabel.
