This project is about more than just planting trees. It is about helping people remain connected to their land, their villages, their culture, and their future.

In Zimbabwe’s Manicaland Province, our partner, Manica Youth Assembly (MAYA), continues to demonstrate how young people can turn this understanding into meaningful community action.

The transformation took place at the Belpada Gaon Bus Stop as part of a “Freedom from Filth” campaign held just before India’s Independence Day.

Recently, Dah Ebbe told us about the National Tree Planting Day in Mauritania. He shared that “we participated in National Tree Day yesterday, on Saturday, August 1st. Mauritania commemorates this day annually by planting 20,000 trees!”

This Independence Day, our GreenMarshals silently joined me in creating a 360° transformation at Palaspe Police Chowk on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, planting around 80 trees and plants to celebrate India’s 80 years of Independence.

On 6 July, we celebrated the 91st birthday of the Dalai Lama, one of the Global Tree Initiative’s greatest sources of inspiration!

Manny was delighted to show us the beautiful fruits of their labour. From their previous plantings, they harvested delicious fruit and vegetables.

The “fertile ground” we are seeking is often already beneath our feet, waiting for us to recognize its potential.

This week, we received the 1000th tree-planting report! Yes, one thousand! This is a tremendous milestone for our organization and our global community. 

Thanks to Charles Brunel and his project, Agrinotech, Haiti became the 70th country to join our global tree-planting community! Welcome, Charles!
